Patrick Swayze has died after losing his battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 57.
The Dirty Dancing star was diagnosed with the disease early 2008.
"Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenge of
his illness for the last 20 months," his publicist said.
A host of Hollywood stars paid tribute to Swayze, including his Dirty Dancing co-star, Jennifer
Grey.
She said, "He was fearless and insisted on always doing his own stunts, so it was not surprising to
me that the war he waged on his cancer was so courageous and dignified."
The film's choreographer, Kenny Ortega, said, "Patrick was a great human being who I knew as a
loving son, husband, brother and friend. He was one of the most creative, enjoyable and alive people
I knew. He did as much for dancing as any man of our generation.
Demi Moore, who he starred with in Ghost, posted on her Twitter page, "Patrick, you are loved by so
many and you light will forever shine in all of our lives."

You were an amazing actor/dancer/singer and will be greatly missed by all of your fans & especially your family. Dirty Dancing is my number 1 film, Ghost comes in a close 2nd!
